Welcome to King Edward
VI High School ... a school where each individual is encouraged to do 'their
best' and reach their potential.
King
Edward VI High School provides a caring and safe environment
in which each individual pupil is challenged to achieve
their best.
They are encouraged to do this through developing high
standards in their work, as well as in self-discipline,
tolerance and mutual respect. Staff are expected to provide
role models, setting the highest standards of
professionalism in their commitment to, and care of, pupils.
It is recognised that the quality of teaching is of
paramount importance, linked to relevant and challenging
schemes of work. At the heart of our school is the pupil,
and our belief that pupils should take responsibility for
their own learning and their school.
The role of the School Council is central to representing
the views of the pupils. We are sure developing this
'learning culture' will see the results of the school
continue to improve each year. It is one of the key
reasons for us featuring in the '100 Most Improved Schools'
in the country 3 years in a row.
Mr. C. Elstone, Headteacher.
